At Kootenai Health we have an excellent hybrid job for an RN who is motivated by patient safety and building community partnerships. We need a dedicated and compassionate Patient Placement Coordinator.

In this position, you will be responsible for consistent information exchange and communication between nursing administration and staff regarding proper physician and bed placement. You will call on your skills to prioritize and make decisions for timely transfers based on acuity, diagnosis, preference, bed availability, and staffing resources. You will maintain accurate Patient Transfer Center records and statistics and other data as requested. You will practice your analytical side for maintaining compliance with federal regulations that guide the transfer of patients between facilities and policy enforcement. 24/7 department.

Day shift = 1 PPC RN, 1 PPC clerical support. Night shift = 1 PPC RN.

Hybrid position - 1 shift as PPC RN, 2 shifts working as an RN in Nursing Resource Team (float RN.) Whenever possible, PPC RN's float in a float cluster by experience and preference of department.

Works closely with outlying facilities. Triages all in-coming transfers. Schedules life flight. Works with hospital supervisor for placement. Multi-tasking; constant pulse in ED, OR, and in-coming flights. Facilitates Dr. to Dr. Line.

Excellent customer service, strong critical thinking. Multi-tasking is a must. Strong phone skills, computer skills. Strong telephone customer support.  

PCU/ED/CICU experience desired. Can consider charge RN's, RN's with leadership background, or ICM experience. No new grads at this time.

1.     A graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.
2.     The State of Idaho Registered Nurse
3.     BSN or current enrollment in BSN program required
4.     Critical Care and/or Emergency Nursing  
5.     BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or     KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.
