Credentialing Specialist
Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing workforce support services as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and maintains credentialing files and updates information in appropriate database.
Manages credentialing and privileging process.
Communicates with appropriate staff and outside organizations regarding status of applications.
Regularly runs reports and conducts follow up to ensure provider licensure and certifications remain current.
Schedules Credentialing Committee meetings, organizes information for review and maintains accurate meeting minutes.
Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to scanning, electronic filing and reception coverage.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Experience in provider credentialing preferred. Knowledge of legal requirements affecting credentialing and human resources functions preferred. Experience working in human resource information system preferred.
Skills: Computer skills required. Excellent organization and follow-up skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality required. Ability to work under tight time constraints, handle high stress and changing priorities required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear, use vision, stand, sit and be mobile. The employee will use hands to finger, handle or feel. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
