Clinic Administrator
Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing clinic leadership to ensure quality patient care and financial viability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures smooth day-to-day operations of assigned clinic(s).
Assigns duties and work schedules, and coordinates clinic staff for designated clinic(s).
Creates and maintains positive staff relations and efficient patient care.
Visits with patients to ensure quality patient care and to resolve outstanding issues.
Participates in orientation and training of clinic personnel.
Assists in Operations and Quality Improvement projects.
Coordinates and/or participates in staff in-service training as directed.
Ensures proper utilization and supervision of assigned students/volunteers.
Maintains a safe environment for patients and employees.
Supervises development of continuing education plans, and is responsible for timely annual performance evaluations of assigned staff.
Manages clinic budget to ensure financial viability.
Orders (or directs ordering of) drugs, solutions, supplies, immunizations and equipment.
Works with lead providers to develop and implement clinical and operational strategies.
Maintains confidentiality and professional attitude.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in healthcare industry required.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication. Organizational skills and intermediate computer skills required; experience with EHR is preferred. A basic understanding of financial and accounting principles required.
Physical Demands:
Required to stand, sit and be mobile up to one-third of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time; while reaching with hands and arms occurs one-third of the day. Required to read from text and computer screen over two-thirds of the time. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs less than one-third of the time. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. Lifting occurs about half the time up to 10 lbs. and less than one-third of the day from 25-40 lbs. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 lbs.
